Related: About this forumPenn Jillette on Trump. "...that's all completely fake, right?"
I'll confess that I've always liked Penn Jillette, in spite of him being a Raving Libertarian and incredible asshole. But this little article has been on my mind because of the quote below. Most of T-rump's supporters know him from a TV show in which he PLAYS a successful businessman who is hiring and firing people from important jobs. He's not. He's an actor going by a script with other actors. People have no clue what he's like as a businessman.
"Jillette talked to Nick Gillespie about how, similar to many aspects of Trumps campaign, even the fundamental set up of the reality show was based on a lie.
I mean, were co-workers on a television show, Jillette said. Hes not seeing if hes going to hire me. He has no job. The places he could hire methe casinos that he has that have showroomshe put into bankruptcy. He no longer owns them. So, he cant hire me, plus I have a job, so thats all completely fake, right?

(41,991 posts)I mean the whole thing was cool; they are wonderful at stagecraft without being all David Copperfield. But at intermission Penn said he was going to show us how the old sword-through-the-barrel trick was done. So he climbed into a barrel and Teller put a bunch of swords through it, and we-the entire audience if we wanted-lined up and walked by and damned if he wasn't there, curled up and chatting, with swords that were all through but just didn't hit him. He kept emphasizing that we were a big part of our own deception.
The other thing that made me laugh was that they went out into the lobby afterward to meet fans and Teller talked a mile a minute. He knew it weirded everybody out but he was like "Yeah, it's part of the act."
