The Republicans need to do a better job of picking candidates.

This is ridiculous. We've ended up with a Republican nominee that has every reasonable person in the country scared to death they might win.

I thought Reagan was bad. At least he and W were governors of big states. Hell, even Sarah Palin was a governor - sort of, for a whole. But Trump? How did this happen?

And while we're on the subject, look at the Republican morans in the House and Senate. Wake up RNC. This can't end well.

I think we should be grateful the Repukes were too stupid to pick him.

it certainly makes the democratic candidate's job a lot easier. Can you imagine what a hatchet job they would be doing on Hilary 24/7 if they did not have to spend all their time and energy not getting their candidate elected.

The only time I was a little worried was when it seemed possible that he would be able to keep his mouth shut long enough to be taken seriously. Thank goodness I had really underestimated just how far from reality he really is.

I was disappointed my candidate lost. I wasn't, however, petrified. If the Orange Menace were to, somehow, pull this thing off I would feel frightened, scared, worried, take your pick.

5. But that is exactly the problem. No, they don't.

Due to their overwhelming media advantage, plus gerrymandering, general education deficiency, willful ignorance and electoral fraud, they can run a ticket of Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird and STILL get a guaranteed 40% of the vote without spending a dime of their own campaign money.

If they didn't have all that, THEN they'd need to get better at picking candidates. Instead, there's not only Trump as their presidential candidate, but they already have Cotton, Gohmert, Ernst, Chaffetz, Kirk, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, etc. etc. etc. in Congress.

The hard right has been clamoring for a nutjob for a long time. Trump probably isn't what anyone was picturing, but if the shoe fits...

The Republican Party outsourced its organizing to multiple conservative media outlets, multiple conservative lobbying & pressure groups, etc. And the billionaires who fund the outside groups.

At most they can change their primary eligibility rules. That might exclude party outsiders who scare you to death like Trump, but it won't affect party insiders who scare you to death, like Cruz.

They need to do a better job of picking their whole party.
