Why is Trump not spending any money on TV advertising? Rallies are going to be his thing.

Why is Trump not spending any money on TV advertising? Rallies are going to be his thing.

I believe that the Trump campaign is relying on huge rallies to motivate voters. The problem there is that people are driving from 2 to 3 hours away to attend these rallies. Meaning they are crossing state lines, counties. So a rally in a specific city with say 20K, there maybe 50% from other voting polls. The Trump campaign are thinking that these are all local people. So the actual number of local voters is down by half. 10K in a large city that's not many voters to win an election. I believe this also happened to Sanders and Romney with their huge rallies.
They also don't have the money to do it. You know what comes first in their budget paying Trump properties first with inflated prices.

1. Very simple: Trump is cheap. He doesn't want to spend money.

Trump thinks he can win this election by pure charisma and free media.

He has little ground-game as well. His campaign-office in Orlando, Florida, is no campaign-office: It's a leftover from a prank from some guy's New Year's Party. His actual Florida campaign-office is in some small town.

13. Plus ads don't make themselves. You have to pay good people to get good ads.

The media gives him and his surrogates free time to blame Obama and Hillary for everything since the beginning of time.

There's 3 different ads. One of them started today and its a very negative nasty ad. Not going to mention the details.

He might be hording the $$$ until the last minute for a national media blast. He's very dangerous and he's very calculating. No one should ever underestimate his capabilities. One thing we know for sure, he's been a bully his entire life and has always won at the expense of Americans. We need to end that on Nov 8th.

12. Well the ads are not placed as well, and get more expensive the longer you wait....

They say Bernie got into trouble because he was hesitant to down on ads in some states. The reason Hillays spending looked so big the past two months is that they have already bought the bulk of her ad time.

11. The idea that he doesn't need ads because the media covers him is bullshit

He needs ads. He simply doesn't know what he's doing.

Despite the weird obsession of some people here with pumping up Trump's chances, he's actually failing miserably, precisely because it's amateur hour at the Trump campaign.

He's going to get stomped out on election day.

...are cheap, with free airtime, and make for better mindshare than incoherent policy outlays.

Trump may also still be sticking to or near his properties, ensuring he maintains that 750-hours/year threshold that lets him dodge millions in taxes.
