2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumGive me a three-four word pithy, catchy but very humiliating phrase to describe DT or
His experience(s) or abilities. Must be safe for TV and totally true and very difficult for a blowhard to take.
I like "out of his depth" and "pandering to racists".
They want to hear a burn or catchphrase.
But it has to be classy- that's the tough part!!
What have you got? Let's give our best to HRC this weekend.
Edited to add - classy- no name calling please.

(23,239 posts)(actually borrowed/stolen (with a slight twist) from GHWB 1988 debate with Gov. Pete Dupont. The actual quote (which pundits considered totally devastating to Dupont) was, "Let me help you, Pierre...." It suggested that Dupont was out of his depth, and referring to him as "Pierre" (his given name) instead of "Pete" was a slap at his "blue blood lines" as a member of the extremely wealthy Dupont family.)

HC: "well you're a grandpa, aren't you Don, what is it, six times, counting all your ex-wifes' kids of course,
so you'll understand how important it is that we leave a safe livable world for their kids to grow up in etc etc
You know, though, now that I think of it, I've never seen a picture of you with any of your grandkids. Hey show me one right now yeah we can take a minute to do that, right, OK - you have one right in your wallet right?
Bill and I are so looking forward to that special love grandparents have. Don, what's your most treasured memory about your first grandchild?"
*the ex-wives crack is just a quick casual aside, like she was trying to do the math on the fly but I hope she uses the phrase several times in the debate. and since the correct number of grandkids is EIGHT it would be interesting if sh*tgibbon even catches it and corrects her

(47,209 posts)Very long rants at social gathering because he was boring and unhinged. He was indulged for a long time, and then I had to tell him how damned obnoxious he was. Gimcrack con artist. Shortchanging chiseler. Blowhard bully. Main-angle conniver. Spoiled little rich boy. Lifelong parasite. Crude boor. Callous narcissist. Privileged wastrel. Bloviating fake. Gaudy show-off. Pretentious egotist. Extravagant spendthrift. Impulsive bounder. Serial adulterer. Lewd philanderer. Unfaithful husband. Arrogant myogynist. Compulsive liar. Morally bankrupt coward. Considering the opulent wealth into which he was born, and the chances he was given, he is actually an underachiever. And, for someone who was given a Wharton School of Business education, he is strangely ignorant and intellectually undeveloped.
As a genuine working class/lower middle class person, I resent his efforts to present himself as an upwardly mobile self-made billionaire. He was born into fabulous wealth which, if he had only managed it with ordinary discretion, would have given him a fortune perhaps three times what he claims to have. His vulgarity comes not from daily struggles with the gritty choices of poverty but from deliberate choices to maximize physical urges and minimize social responsibilities. He tries to co-opt the hard-won moral weight of genuinely self-made men. Whatever faults nouveau-riche people may have, at least they have actually tried and succeeded at something very difficult.
