(119 posts)Given her past performance and experience, Hillary should own the debate. If that happens, I will feel confident about November. If not...

(11,605 posts)Regardless of how good or crappy a poll is, unless it's complete crap (like, self-selected internet users) it can be useful for showing trends.
It looks like Hillary's got the big mo back! Hopefully this will be like 2008, where things tightened for a little while in September and then swung back Obama's way and never went back.
The one difference is that in 2008 Obama just had to prove he could keep up at the debate. This time some are saying that's all Trump has to do. But I really hope that the debates will expose him as the inept bully that he is.

(1,132 posts)but I think Trump will show himself to be SO intellectually deficient, it will hurt him in the polls. I expect him to commit several gaffes, like he did at the CiC forum

(9,123 posts)The undecideds are going to be the target of Ailes. He is the one who is prepping trump.
And we don't know what ammunition they received from Russian hackers or how it could be brought up.

(6,858 posts)They're aren't grading on a curve, but a full damn circle!
Hillary can be the most intellectual, clear, and detailed she's ever been, and they'll simply say "Well.... that's Hillary. We expected that!"
But, if Trump can be halfway coherent by saying complete sentences, they'll clap and cheer that he didn't shit his pants and fling said shit into the audience.
He can say "I like pie." and they'll declare "Well.... so do I!" and say what a great performance he gave.
Meawhile, if Hillary coughs once, the internet will explode with comments that maybe her pneumonia is returning.

(19,066 posts)State polls lag a little.
Monday is huge, I don't think any sane person thinks Trump will gain after Monday.

(1,132 posts)Even Breitbart/Gravis has her at +4. Haha.
These results actually look better than her pre-pneumonia numbers, so obviously Trump took a big hit with his Birther nonsense.

(81,295 posts)Couldn't take a day off. Didn't dare. Fear of being replaced.
The only time I ever took a sick day was when my voice crapped out and I had nothing to speak with. Kinda hard to be on the radio when your voice isn't there.
We were talking about this the other day when the boys in the band came by. I said "I've had to work when I was sick." Our drummer piped up immediately - "that's exactly what my mom said."

(2,957 posts)Everyone in a toss-up state must take on the task of getting just one Democratic-leaning non-voter to the polls. It won't take but a few thousand in each of these states to turn the tide.
If there are 500,000 Democratic voters in a state and only 5% of them can get a habitual non-voter to vote - and vote Clinton - then that's 25,000 additional votes for Hillary. That would likely be enough for Hillary to take that state.
Today's pic of the day (the quote from Trump's African-American outreach leader) is absolutely chilling. If he wins, the US will be in a constant state of constitutional crisis. The man knows nothing about how the executive branch of the government works.
Get out the fucking vote!!

(20,192 posts)Thankfully, Pennsylvania and Colorado look solidly blue. Ohio and Florida are pretty much a tie right now, with Clinton trending up in the last couple of days. I'm also hoping there is a good voter turnout amoung African Americans in North Carolina. Obama only lost it by less than 100K voyes in 2012.
