How will Trump respond when nobody in the crowd reacts to his insults?

(94,687 posts)...I'm certain the Clinton supporters will do likewise. I certainly will.

(15,289 posts)I've thought this would be the biggest problem for Trump. No applause, cheers or chants once the actual show starts. He lives for that, but it won't be there, just all serious for 90 minutes. I once had to stand up in front of an English class in high school and present an oral critique of a book I read - except I'd only been able to struggle through the beginning and figured I'd wing it. After about 5 minutes of stumbling around, my English teacher mercifully said she'd heard enough. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life standing and sounding like an idiot in front of a silent class with no one to throw me a lifeline. I imagine that's sort of what it will be like for Trump tonight.

(4,112 posts)there is no instant feedback, either. He won't be as rattled by that as we might like him to be.

(4,112 posts)I'd bet he has stamina problems. Ahem. Wasn't he the one whining about the length of the primary debates?
