I was expecting the press to keep the bar low for Trump like they did W. If he could get on stage and string together three sentences that were somewhat related, he was presidential. I guess the normal "common sense" way of looking at politics - "he's a regular guy/gal," "I'd like to have a beer with that candidate," etc. - aren't applying this year, and maybe the media woke up after basically helping to create Trump the candidate and said, "Shit! We can't keep propping him up! He might actually become president!"
