Of Course Men Commented On Hillary Clinton’s Looks During The Debate

"Oh the joys of being a woman. Your appearance is never *quite* acceptable enough.

Few understand this reality as well as Hillary Clinton. She’s weathered attacks on her hair, her scrunchies, her clothing, her age and her facial expressions.

When Clinton isn’t grinning constantly, she’s criticized, primarily by men, for not smiling enough. When she does smile ― like when she is winning her first general election presidential debate ― men think she’s, wait for it, smiling too much. Yes, that’s correct. The woman who was repeatedly told to smile by everyone from Reince Priebus to Ed Rendell, is now being told to smile less."

A lot of ugly things have surfaced in this election, but perhaps the most disturbing is the fact that sexism and racism are alive and well in America

I personally find him to be a very unattractive man.

but, I had commented on Facebook last night that Trump looked "squinty and angry" at the start of the debate.

And, yes, i was waiting last night for somebody to say that Clinton was smiling too much, but I have not heard that - yet. I'm sure it's out there somewhere, though.

It is more than that also. They were commenting on how "unattractive she was". For most of the campaign the news media, NOT just fox have been making snide remarks such as "she is angry, doesn't smile, is shrill, etc". The characterization of her male opponents by the MEDIA talking heads, never even went there. It was only directed at the strong "WOMAN"

yes, it's a huge double standard that women have to endure. I just did not hear anything last night about how she looked in the post debate commentary - I'm sure I missed it, but I did not watch a lot of the "after" debate, other than hearing Tweety saying that it was a knockout for Clinton and she had 5 home runs to 0 for Trump, and then Steve Schmidt saying that Trump did okay at the start, but was later reduced to incoherent babbling after the first 45 minutes.

be if men were treated as just what they look like.

Even a 3 would be generous.

Period. HRC was serious appropriately and smiled sincerely when the buffoon stuck his foot in his mouth. HRC was commanding thoughout.

Of course that's in everyday life, not in the debate last night.

With reference to the debate I think that a person's thoughts about the candidates' appearances had a lot to do with who they support. Maybe the men who are sounding about Hillary's appearance support Trump.

I'm a man and I found Hillary's smile engaging while Trump looked like he was mad all night. I think that any man who continues to comb his hair the way Trump does is living in the past and it inappropriate for his age. On the other hand I don't remember Trump face looking as orange as usual with the tell tail whiter areas around the eyes. He should engage a makeup artist more often on the trail. Then we we can accuse him of being a "sissy".
