2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhere will the right-wing fanatics go?
If the GOP somehow comes to its senses and realizes it needs to rid itself of the right-wing, Fox-loving, fanatical nutjobs, the nuts will have nowhere to go. Right now they have a home in the Republican Party with its vast financial resources and have at least a chance of electing some of their own to office. That keeps most of them in line.
Once that is taken away and they can no longer have that haven or support, and no longer have a prayer of succeeding at the ballot box, I fully expect them to turn violent -- al Qaeda style. We've seen how unstable many of these people are, particularly after this last election. We've seen their threats and delusional fantasies of revolution and war.
These people are ticking time bombs. Quite frankly, I'm worried about what happens when they have nothing left to lose. These people are dangerous.

"Tea Party" just doesn't sound right for a major political party.

(1,437 posts)Must of these people are armchair pundits and complainers who are essentially cowards when it comes down to it. The minute the national guard or the ATF shows up on their doorstep they will piss their already soiled pants and cry for mommy.
