What. A. Loser. For all the world to see, if they didn't already know.

He has embarrassed himself more than Palin did. The subtle difference between them is that Palin doesn't seem to understand how much she's embarrassed herself. Trump does, which is why he keeps lashing out at whoever is available, with all the predictability and intelligence of a tropical storm.

We can't get into this mindset that he's toast until he actually loses. He's a greasy thing and can escape many traps that would foil ordinary pols.
