2016 Postmortem

The fact that Donald Trump is a teetotaler is a well documented fact. Trump, according to numerous interviews and reports, has never drank alcohol, taken illicit drugs, or smoked a cigarette. In fact, according to an interview with Esquire magazine the real estate mogul even stays away from coffee.
Trump's dedication to sobriety comes, in part, from his brother's struggle with alcoholism.
"I learned a lot from my brother, Fred," Trump told Forbes in a 2011 interview in which the magazine profiled 10 "Teetotaling Moguls". "He set an example. It wasnt, maybe, the example that people would think, but it really was, in its own way, an example. That here was this fantastic guy, who got caught up in the alcohol, and he ultimately died from alcoholism."
In addition to never having himself had a drink, done drugs, or smoked a cigarette, temperance has been a virtue Trump has made an effort to instill in his children, something he spoke at length about in December of 2015.

(18,837 posts)...I wouldn't put it past Trump to say "I've heard a lot of people say she has a cocaine problem. A lot of them. Many, many people."
So I think it's more about giving Trump a taste of his own medicine than any 100% serious accusations that he favors blow.
Which is not to say that he doesn't.
But I think it's more about rubbing his nose in his own stink.

(17,865 posts)this road. Should have had some quack doctor do it if you wanted to get it out to the public.
I frankly don't see how it, without some sort of confirmation, really helps anyway.
The former chair of the DNC shouldn't be doing this.

(34,845 posts)And Hannity saying that Trump's tee-totalling is 'well documented' is based only on Trump's say-so. Hannity isn't a journalist but he is also a poor commentator.

(1,060 posts)Oh, no, baseless accusations... Says it aint so... Nobody at Fox would ever do such a thing.
Lets rips a piece of that mop on his head and test it.

(17,865 posts)the moderator produces two drug specimen jars and asks both candidates after the debate to pee into the cup.
Given that someone applying for a $7.50/hr. clerking job is asked to do this, I don't see why we shouldn't expect it as well.
Demeaning? No more demeaning than being stopped and frisked without probable cause.

Uh, yeah. They did, endlessly, when she had pneumonua. Tabloids still have her dying of lung cancer, suffering with MS, Parkinsons Disease, brain damage, and anything they can imply.
