Blacks and Hispanics like to get free stuff from the government

Blacks and Hispanics are clearly not social conservatives, not in life, culture, or voting, so the explanation is elsewhere.

I agree 100%.

I've seen many articles about the black community and homosexual marriage (the experts tells me blacks are very conservative on this issue)
I've seen many articles on Hispanics and abortion (the experts point out that, as Catholics, the Hispanics are very conservative on this issue).

I could list other issues -- but it's all bosh. As far as demographic generalities can go, one should simply say that (in general) blacks and Hispanics like to get free stuff from the government, and that no other issues really matter to them.

The lesson for me: Republicans should not attempt to pander to these blocks -- the Democrats will always pander more successfully.

after the 2012 election thrashing. What better way to reach out to those communities than to insult them?

Conservative insult me to my face ... so I could better explain the type of Stuff we Black People want.

But then that never happens.

This why The GOP is going the way of the dinosaur, because they are getting all their information from Fox News, Articles and Failed GOP candidates.

is this coming from? You can not lump people into a group as if they don't think for themselves. To assume whites don't like to get services from the Government is false. We are all individuals and make decisions in our best interests. Some whites lie, some commit adultery and many also get abortions. There are many whites that are gay too. So to pin social issues people disagree with just on entire racial groups is flawed and only perpetuates racial attitudes.

What is very important to minorities is to be treated with respect and as equals. They also want the same opportunities in their country and will not be pushed to the back of the line. Isn't that what we are talking about and the fear of some whites, that they no longer have as much power they use to have? What is the point of voter suppression and calling the first African American President in this country incompetent or he doesn't know how to be American by most white people, that reject him? I don't think any African American or Hispanic American think they are less than anybodyelse in this country because of the color of their skin. There seems to be a double standard in this country.

Whites get services from this country just like everyoneelse. They get financial Aid, Social Security, free tax rates, and every other kinds of social services. It is only when the other guy get these services, there is this objection to it. People don't want to see the other person succeed because they don't look like you. The Democratic Party has figured it out and that is why they are winning and the Republican Party is in danger of fading away in the wind. It is called Progress. Think about the era of the Civil War. America is going through phases and the GOP cannot turn back the clock. There is this old saying. If you can't beat them, then join them.

If I wanted to read this garbage, I would go to FR.

This is offensive. I don't come here to read about or discuss that racist crap that FR embraces.

For a few hours yesterday, the top link on the Drudge Report led to a YouTube video in which an Ohio woman said she's going to vote for President Obama because he gave her a phone. The woman is inarticulate and she speaks loudly, and on top of those things she's black. Basically, she is exactly the kind of person many on the right envision—wrongly, it should be said—when they think of who is guzzling from the government teat these days. That she was bragging about Obama giving her "every minority in Cleveland" luxuries like cell phones was just the icing on the cake.

Though we can't be positive which government program the woman from the video is referencing without interviewing her, it does appear that she's talking about the FCC's Lifeline Assistance benefit. Owing to the fact that people generally need phones to apply for jobs and enroll their children in school, and elderly citizens need to be able to call their families and emergency services, the government decided in the '80s (under Ronald Reagan, no less) to institute the Lifeline Assistance program. In 1996, Bill Clinton signed the Telecommunications Act into law, which offered either cell phones or landline services to low-income Americans.

Today, 38 states, one of which is Ohio, participate in the Lifeline program. If you live in one of those locales and your income is at or below 135 percent of the poverty line, or if you qualify for certain benefit programs like Medicaid and TANF, you can apply for a free cell phone that offers you 250 minutes of talk time per month. The people who are getting these phones aren't getting iPhones or other smartphones; they're often people in urban or rural areas who are being supplied with basic cell phones so they can call the hospital when they're sick, or receive calls if there's a problem with their child at school.

If you're upset that Obama is giving "freeloaders" gratis cell phones paid for with your tax money, don't be. Firstly, Obama had nothing to do with the Lifeline program: the "Obama phone" narrative is a myth that both liberals and conservatives have fallen for since 2009. Secondly, Lifeline isn't paid for with tax revenues. Rather, Lifeline is funded with a pool of money, called the Universal Service Fund, which is paid for with revenue donations from telecommunications providers. Some of those providers—like Verizon, for instance—pass off that cost to their customers with a Universal Service fee, but the government doesn't mandate that the money come from citizens, meaning it's technically not a tax.

I saw ads in my area about this and I assumed that it was some sort of program, and I was okay with it... but it's good to have more facts.
