2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI have a sneaking feeling
I have a sneaking feeling that Ms. Universe is just the latest of the bait that the campaign will toss in front of The Donald over the remaining weeks of the campaign. Think of all the women Trump has harassed, think of all the people he screwed over financially during his sorted career. Just think of all of the people who would love to have an opportunity in the media spotlight to get even with that @$$hole.
If I were an adviser on Hillary's campaign staff I would have a line of such people waiting in the wings, waiting to get their revenge on Trump. As soon as Trump lets one controversy die down I would trot out another one.
Just think, a never ending series of Trump Twitter and rally tantrums right up until election day. Sweet! I wonder how many hits it will take until he learned not to attack anyone who says bad things about him because it backfires and takes him off message. I'm betting he will never learn.

(5,648 posts)... he is totally off message defending himself, attacking those with whom the public can sympathize, and not attacking Hillary. Me likes Mr. Trumpy chasing his tail. Hard to make any progress when you are running around in circles.

(58,706 posts)Unlike Muhammed Ali, he's got nothing to back that up. His surrogates keep babbling that he wants to "stay on message" and talk about policy. Problem is, stating his "policies" takes about 15 seconds. Once you recite all of the BS about walls and uses all of his meaningless adjectives, he's done with it.
He IS on message.

(6,476 posts)a prominent politician with a 35 year career is going to take her lumps but Republicans have always failed spectacularly. Of course, young voters haven't been there along the way to see what bullshit she has had to overcome-but she's still standing proud.

(5,648 posts)And it seems like there is an endless list of shady business dealings and/or illegal tax dealing that the the media has yet to uncover.
It is actually embarrassing to the country that someone with Trump's character has managed to become the nominee of a major political party. If Hillary or any other politician were to be accused of even one of dishonest stunts Trump has pulled in his business career, it would be disqualifying. Yet Trump's supporters seem to excuse dozens of such stunts.
