trump won't quit. we've lost 49 states, twice! trump will do much better than that.

the republican party leadership can't be happy at all with the situation, but their best strategy *by far* is simply to accept defeat, do their best to distance themselves from trump, make out like he's a one-off, and move on.

creating massive confusion won't help them.

creating a fresh circus for a replacement candidate won't help them. who would they pick? pence? that would mean trump got to hand-pick their nominee, would they really go for that? would the other primary candidates be happy with that?

most important for their party, would this help voters turn out to vote down-ticket? i can't see any of that helping.

they're stuck with trump on the ballot. they should do what the koch brothers already did -- write off the white house and focus on the winnable congressional races.
