Sat Oct 8, 2016, 10:53 PM
Oct 2016

So, if Trump wins the state, the electors will be bound by law to vote for him - they cannot vote for Pence or another Republican. That isn't the case in every state, however, it is the case in all these states:

Alabama
Alaska
Colorado
Florida
Michigan
Mississippi
Montana
Nebraska
North Carolina
Ohio
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Virginia
Wisconsin
Wyoming

There's enough states there that if, say, the Republicans are somehow successful at getting electors to vote for someone other than Trump in those states he wins not listed above, that there will be enough electoral votes listed above, most likely to stop a secondary candidate from winning the 270 needed.

The truly hilarious thing about this is that the corporate interests who have used Fox 'news,' and hate-talk radio to manufacture consent among the ignorant for their immoral, odious capitalist agenda of exploitation - trying to squeeze us for the uttermost farthing of profit - are now RECOILING IN HORROR over the horrible orange zombie that is shambling along in hopes of being elected. They are looking at a 90%+ chance of Clinton being elected, a better than even chance Dems will take the Senate and the chance the GOP will lose a bunch of House seats as well.

You know, it's pretty fucking funny.

Unless he wins.

So, please, please, please vote, and don't waste that vote on a third party candidate. Yes, I know Clinton isn't perfect. But she cares about people. She knows the issues backwards and forwards. She is sane.

He's not quitting because the RNC needs him in the event that Trump quits. What the RNC and the Trump campaign do know is that there is no way they can put Trump in that town hall debate forum on Sunday. Talk about coming to a battle of wits unarmed! Instead, they're prepping Pence to go head to head with Hillary. That's the only strategy they've got at this point.

He was going to lose his re-election bid. Nobody else wanted to be on this suicide ticket, but for Pence that was a lot better than losing your own re-election.

And now that his stock went up in the VP debate, he is effectively getting off the Trump ticket. It is a finesse move. He avoided the humiliation of being ousted in Indiana, and now sees the opportunity to avoid being associated with the Trump drubbing.

Pretty savvy moves, I'd say. He comes out of this as the GOP front-runner for 2020.

Several recent cases, including the case of Frank Lautenberg in 2002, have required states to change the ballot inside of their own deadlines.

However it's certainly true that some states are not competent enough to change their ballots, and early voting has been ongoing for a couple of weeks now, so it would be quite the mess.

Will Pence announce his own run? Sounds like GOPers are lining up behind him. I'm sure there'd be no love lost between him and Trumpster.

Pence was in this for Pence. He barely defended Trump at all, Pence was setting himself up for 2020. Dropping out now from the VP slot can only help Mike Pence.

73. The Vox was speculating this morning about a back room deal -- Trump and Pence
Sat Oct 8, 2016, 01:15 PM
Oct 2016

in a room, they are told that Trump, if the Pubs win, will take office and then immediately resign (or be designated unfit to govern) and Pence would be the de facto President. This plan would then be announced to the public in the hopes that Trump supporters would still vote Pub because Pence would be the acting President.

I do agree with others on this thread that if Pence stays on this ticket as if nothing was wrong, he'll never hold office again.

Pence's career was on life support in Indiana so he jumped into the VP slot with Trump. Now he's on a doomed ticket. I doubt he's all that excited about taking the reins and riding this wagon straight into hell.

A politician only has one, maybe two chances to run for President. If he ends up on the top of this ticket - his national political career is likely over.

Trump Has Burned The GOP To The Ground With Insincere Disastrous Video Non-Apology
Donald Trump released a late night video that was a hollow insincere apology that turned into a sleazy attack on Bill and Hillary Clinton that just burned the Republican Party to the ground.

Republican Officials Are Meeting Right Now To See If They Can Toss Trump Off The Ticket
RNC officials are meeting to discuss what options the party has in case Trump is not the nominee. In other words, the RNC is trying to think of a way to legally ditch Trump.

Trump's rabid base will rebel and refuse to vote. Even if Trump were to make it voluntary they'd think he was "forced" off somehow by the hated establishment and they-would-go-nuts!!!

I mean, Sarah Palin was crazy enough, but this? This is a clusterfuck of such massive proportions that it will be studied for hundreds of years as the time America almost became a white supremacist country and only Trump's sex life stopped it.
We live in interesting items, that's for sure.
