2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumJohn Kasich Jeb Bush & Mitt, whatever else you can say about them, legitimately earned some respect
They all are/were major figures in the National Republican Party who refused to give their support to Donald Trump in real time, when it really counted, at the 2016 Republican Convention where Trump took over their party. Ted Cruz, much as I loathe him, had a chance to be proved right about Trump but, like the craven politician that he is, he threw it all away when he calculated, a couple of weeks ago, that his own career advancement depended on him getting on board with Trump. Good riddance.
All of the Republican office holders crawling out of the woodwork now to suddenly renounce Donald Trump can go to Hell, or election defeat - whichever is more painful for them. They damn well knew who Trump was all along

God didn't mention that it was a game of Russian roulette.
