I am terrified that Trump will drop out - Hillary haters who could'nt support Trump will be unleashd

If Trump drops out and is replaced by Pence, a cardboard box, or ANYONE who is not Donald Trump, masses of people who despise Hillary will vote for that person.

Don't be delusional about it for one second...there are hoards of Republicans and Independents who have great Fear and Loathing of a Hillary presidency, and the only reason they are sitting home or voting third party is because they cannot in good conscience vote for Trump.

The race is already very tight, and without that orange buffoon on top of the ticket, I fear (rationally, I believe) that the Republicans may very handily defeat Hillary.

I wish this had happened around Halloween so there would be no time for any alternatives.

And even if he did drop out, there's no time for the GOP to replace him and actually win the election with whoever. People have already voted; in many states it's too late to get a new candidate on the ballot.

Trump could win the race, but Pence could run the country.

So what would happen to those early votes for Trump if he dropped out? Would the votes still go toward Trump or would they send new ballots out?

deal of fluidity in that party right now. Post election, it will be interesting to see how that party sorts itself out. The net effect of DT has exposed their racism, bigotry, hypocrisy just to name a few of the infections within that party.

Could be a wash in the end. In fact, I'm sure if the republican party could replace him, they would have to do some fast focus groups and polling to see if the deplorables that are loyal to Trump and might revolt by not voting would be offset by those that would come over to whomever they selected.

It would be a risky move.

They are a relatively small part of the republican electorate. I am hoping that this discourages every republican who can no longer hold their nose and vote for him, from voting. There are a lot more of them. Let 'em all stay home.

He never wanted to be president. He's in negotiations. What will the ryan/pence administration do for trump industries? Government contracts? Disappear all taxes questions?

As much as his ego would hate being seen as a quitter, he has always quit when it made him money. Screw investors. Screw voters. Screw America. He'll get his and make it seemed like he was being the good guy, the noble lamb. He can spin this into the alt-right media corporation he wanted in the first place.

I doubt that Ryan would be stupid enough to get on the ticket now. Political suicide.

His best chance is to run in 2020.

But yes, Trump might be able to be bought off... it would be expensive.

You and I will pay for it.

You may be right about ryan's intelligence. But as a congressman, he still has to run the house and fund raise. He surely can't be looking forward to herding that pack of hyenas for four years. It would give him a chance to let go of the speakership.

B) You don't seem to understand the loyalty that the deplorables have for Donald.

If the RNC forced Donald out, every Repub up for reelection would lose because they (deplorable) will either not vote for them or vote against them. The RNC knows this, the deplorables know this and even jumping ship/pulling support from Donald is likely playing with fire.

The RNC has no control over the monster they created (Donald & Deplorables) and they know it.

I argue they aren't on the sidelines as you suggest. They are motivated by hate therefore active and willing to sell their souls to keep Clinton out.

Since we know the Hillary haters will stay with a different candidate, what will the remaining Trump supporters do? Not one hundred percent will stay with a new candidate.

I think the real number will be from those on the right who believe they are centrist. Those registered Republican but cannot vote for Trump. There are many of them out there.

They would have to have another convention to elect another candidate. To late for that. Ballots are on there way out the door for early voting .. they'd have to write in a candidate. So I would say that many Repubs will not vote, or go towards Johnson .. the ding bat.
