Related: About this forumBullshit! Trump's comments are not just locker room banter
He was joking about sexual assault. Locker room banter might be "boy I'd like to fuck her" "she's got a nice ass" or "she's got a nice bod". Those comments may be crude but they do not condone violence.
I'm sick and tired of the Trump apologists who write his comments off as locker room banter.

(10,572 posts)I am 45 and I have never heard or taken part in anything remotely close to what Trump was saying. It's not locker room banter.

(3,284 posts)of disgusting to them:
1) sexual assault
2) infidelity of both partners
3) blatant misogyny and objectification of women.
4) abuse of power

(3,284 posts)By doing that, they're casually dismissing sexual assault comments. And whenever they similarly claim that the American people would "prefer to talk about the real issues affecting them," they're also effectively erasing the very real issues of rape culture and misogyny.

(3,469 posts)That's the point that the apologists keep skimming over. Trump was there to promote an appearance. He wasn't talking to some buddy in a locker room he was talking to an interviewer at a job who was accompanying him to promote Trump's work on a soap. The van was a workplace, the studio was a workplace. Trump was probably (definitely) paid for the soap appearance making him an employee. An employee talking sexist trash about another employee and having this conversation in a work setting.

(10,291 posts)and I read something on this last night, but failed to bookmark it. It was something about how trying to pass this off as 'just talk' is almost worse

(58,724 posts)I think the sad fact is that especially in certain circles, this sort of conversation is frighteningly commonplace.

(22,897 posts)There is no excuse-- none. That a man pushing 60 feels comfortable in uttering such things is mind-boggling. This is one of the many ways that shows how stunted his growth is-- he simply never grew up. He's pathetic.
