There are some weasel words that may allow them to replace Trump, but all of this will take time as votes are being cast and decisions made.

They will have to go to court in all 50 states if Trump fights it. Notice the Supreme Court is 4-4 so each state will have to decide on its own merits if an expected 4-4 comes down (the liberal justices being more principled might apply the New Jersey Senate race precedent - they refused to hear that one that allowed the Democratic party to replace its candidate in early October).

As for the technicalities of laws that have never been tested in court, the term "fait accompli" comes to mind. As we all know, ignoring and actively breaking election-related laws is, in fact, SOP for the GOP. Just look at Gore v. Bush and all the crimes that lead up to that.
