LONG standing pattern during my adult life, from the late 80s to now, that only has gotten more pronounced is that the media has two marching orders:

1) ALWAYS negatively cast democrats. it is always bad news when things are good for dems, they are always admonished to "not overplay their hands" and they always, ALWAYS are to blame for republicans acting like assholes.

2) Provide as much cover as possible for republicans and as much as possible legitimize their assholery? "President Obama, what do you have to say to those who think you were born outside the united states, are a socialist, communist, god hating muslim?"

I am terrified that Donald will drop out. Bill Clinton must go on the air and say all this is unfair to Donald, that boys will be boys etc. Hillary must say that she accepts Donald's heartfelt apology.

For a week or two. Then we can release a dozen more recordings and say, oh my God, I had no idea he was This Bad.
