I'm old enough to remember "The Saturday Night Massacre" during Watergate

I don't think anything I've seen comes as close to it as what has transpired the last 24 hrs. We all knew Nixon was a crook. His actions just confirmed what most everyone believed. Once again, we all knew trump was a prick this just confirms it. Thoughts?

That's been my very thought today. Nothing like it except Watergate and the SNM. WheelWalker Oct 2016 #1

14 year's old and found it fascinating. You right. Even Bush/Gore doesn't seem this weird.

His report on the Saturday Night Massacre is iconic.

The House introduced bills for impeachment hearings the following week.

It was an astounding day.

Nixon to prison or pardoning him. This is all very dramatic, way too bizarre to make a credible political novel (although it might fit the style of someone like Carl Hiaasen), but I just don't see it as as big as removing a president guilty of a whole series of major crimes and even treason from the oval office.

just saying I don't remember a moment that changes the narrative like this. Maybe Hart/ Rice.

At least Gary Hart wasn't our nominee, and we weren't a month out from election day. And no vulgar language was involved, not that that would have had more impact on Democrats than several decades of very well known womanizing.

I've spent decades living among strong conservatives, and years from now I expect they will still be trading stories about where they were when they heard Trump had used (lowered voice) "the P word."

Lol, joking, but not really joking.
