A theory...

I know Hillary was following the, "When they go low, we go high" mantra.

But I couldn't help but feel that she was less defensive this time around. He got a lot of hits in. Hell, the moderators spoke up for Hillary at times. It was weird. Why was she so relaxed?

My theory is that she knows there's a bigger surprise waiting for Donald just around the corner.

I can't shake this feeling that it wasn't her playing it safe. I think tonight was dangerous. I think the moderators let him defend himself more than they let her defend herself.

I dunno. I just hope tonight didn't help Trump. I do believe people are foolish enough to see that behavior and actually think it's smart and strong. FML

10. I don't know of what you speak... But, the Deploricans will wave it off as "locker room banter."

They don't. Clearly they think his deplorable words are excusable because they can just consider it "locker room talk" when maybe they're just too stupid to accept that maybe, JUST MAYBE, even if it's locker room talk, it's STILL UNACCEPTABLE.

Republicans would just sneak someone else in who has less negatives than Trump.

Stuff that The Donald will not enjoy having out in public. I hope those rumors are true!

or him to have done so badly that the repubs will force replacement.

Let him get his 40% base vote. It would be risky with another candidate brought in.

8. I agree that there is something even more explosive, that they've been holding on to

The timing of the tape released last week is what convinced me. If that was the most game changing October Surprise, they would have held on to it for a few more weeks.

They might already have those other tapes.

9. I don't think that's it at all. She played it safe.

She's leading late in the fourth quarter and doesn't need to be aggressive to win this thing. She just needs to show up, not make any mistakes, and run out the clock. She knew the best way for Donald to score a decisive victory was by getting into a defensive back and forth with him and didn't want to risk it.

I'm guessing she has no idea whether any tape will drop and when.

This debate helps her favorables and only helps Trump with his base.

Trump didn't collapse or blow up or melt down, but he didn't offer any substance.

Trump's amateur campaign is still on life support.

18. Despite his nastiest efforts to hit her hard, she wasn't the least bit rattled or defensive

I liked how she was not upset or nervous but seemed calmly resigned to just listening to his disjointed over the top accusations and basically dismissed him as telling whopping falsehoods. He was not successful in exacting revenge or any kind of knockout blow which is what he and his handlers were hoping. He seemed resigned at the end when he praised her for being a fighter as he certainly had to recognize her steadfastness under adversity as he had hit her with his strongest lines of attack.
