The vote was to authorize the President to use war as a tool. It showed American unity.
Bush/Cheney and their cabal did the unthinkable and actually did it.
To vote no on the AUF was political suicide and will get you branded as unAmerican among other epithets.
This was not a vote for war nor was it a declaration of war. The Republicans are too chicken shit to pay for a conflict much less go on record declaring one.
