A body language expert said she was worried that Donald Trump might physically assault Hillary Clinton during Sunday nights presidential debate.
Janine Driver a former investigator with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Trump loomed and lurked behind Clinton in response to her power move.
Look at what happens, Hillary is going to his side of the stage, Driver said. Shes standing in front of him whats he going to do? Sit down? Go to her seat? Clinton effectively prevented Trump from interrupting her by standing in front of him, said Driver, president of the Body Language Institute and a frequent talk show guest.
Thats her power move, Driver said.

It was intensely disconcerting. I had to walk away several times, and finally resorted to stress eating.
I literally feared something violent might happen.

I didn't see it. I don't think I ever have seen one.
It's a hilarious waste of time.

Also said that I was confident Clinton could handle anything Trump throws at her, outside of him taking a swing at her.

(2,322 posts)...because it's more about voters being against Trump rather than for Hillary. I think this debate puts that worry to rest.
Because while Trump undermined himself on stage, acting monstrously, he also gave Hillary the chance to prove she's a superhero. She had to share that stage with him, this little, quiet woman, putting up with every vile, stupid, monstrous thing he threw at her, like some raging, radioactive creature throwing cars. He threw everything in sight. Bill's old infidelities included! She deflected all of them, never faltering, never weakening, never giving up, never breaking.
We're hearing now that watching this changed how a lot of voters are now seeing her. Both those who planned to vote for her (but didn't like her) and those who were thinking of voting for Trump. Voters who were saying "I just don't want the monster in charge," are now saying, "I want that superhero who beat this monster in charge! If she can do that, she can handle anything."

(12,448 posts)I am sick of hearing the media saying the two candidates are "the most disliked in history." It's a mantra with them, as if the candidates are basically the same, when there's a UNIVERSE of difference between them.
I, too, have heard people turn around completely, who've said in the past that they'd vote for Hillary only to keep Trump out of office. Now they've seen her in action, and she's indeed a superhero!

(58,785 posts)He's a childish and territorial bully who was angry and frustrated that he couldn't dominate her, but when he realized he'd allowed himself to move too close he turned and walked all the way back to his stool and sat on it for the first time. A very interesting move. Childish in itself.
Also, the cameras foreshortened the distances, and he's much taller and twice her mass. The stage was small, but they weren't as close together as it sometimes seemed.
