Another bleak Trump moment from the debate.

There was so much that was horrible from last night's debate. From Trumps hiring four women who had supposedly 'been wronged' by Hillary (um, because she didn't invite women who claimed her husband sexually assaulted them to High Tea?), to his 'aw shucks, boys will be boys' defense (saying 'you don't understand') to his joking about sexual assault, to his threat to 'lock her up'.

But in yet another blow to our way of life, in his response to a Muslim woman's question about how to overcome Islamophobia, Trump seemed to channel Chinese Chairman Mao, and told her that Muslims had to 'report other Muslims'. So, now, in Trump's vision for the US, not only will we be locking up political opponents, giving the power elite permission to sexually assault women, not pay taxes, but also encourage citizens to 'report subversives to the government' - particularly Muslims.

Others have hoped that 'our system of checks and balances will hold back his Authoritarian plans'. I seriously doubt it. When Nixon didn't like what a special prosecutor was doing he instigated the 'Friday Night Massacre' just firing folk until he found someone willing to carry out his order to fire the special prosecutor. The fact that this enraged both the Congress and the voters and added fuel to the demands for impeachment does not nullify the fact that the President can always find someone to do his bidding.
