2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumHere's why your vote for Hillary matters even if you live in a safely blue state.
It's true that the electoral college will determine the official winner, and that if you live in a dark blue state your state's electoral votes will probably go to Hillary no matter what.
HOWEVER, once Hillary is elected, she needs to work with Congress. And if she is elected in a landslide -- a popular vote landslide -- then she is going to have more "political capital."
Your vote, in your blue state, can help give her that popular vote landslide.
Please pass this along to any friends who are considering a 3rd party vote. Do they want a Congress that will help pass the legislation she and Bernie Sanders support? Then help Hillary win a landslide.

(30,058 posts)In fact early voting begins in Texas tomorrow, will gladly cast my vote for a woman president who happens to be the most qualified candidate.

(3,063 posts)Arizona... hoping this will be the year it turns blue. Legalizing cannibas for recreational use is on the ballot so I think there'll be a high voter turnout. Democrats usually do well whenever there's a high voter turnout.

(11,605 posts)That and honestly, of the major and minor parties I think she is the best candidate. I still wish it were Bernie, but I'm pretty psyched to vote for Hillary at this point.

(3,635 posts)the larger % win the better, in terms of the ability to claim that the outcome of the election was a mandate for her agenda.
This, along with an electoral college landslide would really give her major political capital, especially as the GOP is imploding.
