Boehner Pushes Obama To Relocate Fiscal Cliff Farther Down The Road

But for all their calm rhetoric and cool demeanor, the two parties may still face a major point of disagreement. With just weeks to go before the Bush tax cuts expire and the sequester (totaling $1 trillion in spending cuts) goes into effect, Republicans are now pushing for an extension of the deadline until some time in 2013. Democrats, by contrast, are demanding that some agreement be reached before the end of the year.

needs to go around the House Leadership and target certain Republicans that are vulnerable, especially in Blue States. There maybe some in red districts also, especially if you have moderate Democrats also in Southern States. There are minorities within their Districts also. And there maybe swing voters in their Districts. These are the voters he should target to call their Congressman and put them on notice. Ohio and Pennsylvania are Blue States which might have some of these Politicians. My theory is every Republican are not located in Red States. Who are the two Senators in Ohio? I know one is a Democrat as well as one in Wisconsin. I would target the Republican Senators in those Blue States and put them on notice. Just campaign in their States to break the hold by their leadership in the House and Senate. The Republican Senator of Ohio should hold no allegiance to Mitch McConnell. I'm [pretty sure there are some Republican Congressmen on Staten Island too and in New Jersey.

Another route he can take is enlisting the cities' mayors of the country and target every Republican in their Legislatures. This would implement a plan to wipe the Republicans out or give them consider damage in 2014 if people realize it was the Republican Party that caused taxes to go up because they were held hostage just for the wealthy. This also includes the Defense cuts under the Fiscal Cliff. Campaign right now in those Defense areas what the Republicans are willing to do and implant it in the voters mind for 2014. It is just the reverse of what the Republicans were doing to the Democrats. THat should be their ultimatum to the Republicans. Hang their obstruction to protect the wealthy around their necks like an albatross.

They're the only ones who can be elected in those districts. Running a full-bore progressive is political suicide, so the best ones we can run are the economic progressives and social moderate-conservatives (pro-labor and pro-life across the board--not the batshit crazy anti-woman types).

remember last thanksgiving?, the Admin. working for months and months with Boehner and his buddies. Then those republicans quit, obstruct and walk away.

The Republicans can not be trusted to folllow through, they waste thousands of hours of Americans time and federal money.

I expect the President and his admin to hold firm and move America foward.

You're scared sh*tless cause you know your party is caught between a rock and a hard place when the Bush tax cuts expire.

Rock: Anger the majority of the country if you try to hold middle class hostage while re-negotiating tax cuts for the wealthy.

Hard place: Face the wrath of your constituency and all those big donors if you agree to extend tax cuts for middle class but let them expire for the wealthy.

Have fun with that.

I don't want the lame (-a**) duck Congress that got elected in 2010 dealing with the President on this, particularly since they haven't attempted to work with him since day one and, in fact, set out to sabotage his efforts to help fix the economy (which is at least partially why the recovery is still struggling IMHO). I would be o.k. with holding off on the cuts in the sequestration as long as the Bush Tax Cuts finally expire.
