I hate the fact that Do Not Call is meaningless, as much as I hate usurious ATM fees!

how many of them are "likely voters" who answer their phone? How does that weight in a random profile?

So likely that I drag people by the dozens to the polls on election day.

But I never, ever, EVER answer the phone if I don't recognize the number! You'd think they might stop calling, all the political calls, AND all the "Buy solar panels" and all the scam calls I get! Thank goodness for 800 Notes--I plug the number in there and find out which numbers are scammers or what!

Call Dems-Remind people to register, to vote, make sure they know polling location, offer rides....maybe I'm calling you!

A few years ago I read about a study that found the most effective way to get out the vote was to send unlikely voters a form letter saying you last voted in ----- ( year) , and we'd love to see you vote again. Do you need help getting to the polls? Call this number.

If it's some Republican, I hang up. If it's the Dems, I say 'you got my vote at 'hello'' and wish them a good day. If it's a poll, I answer; however, if it's a push-poll with weighted questions, I either lie or hang up.

I was actually one of those people who agreed to let them call me back at 10:30 Sunday to say 'Hell, yes, Hillary won the debate!" which was pretty satisfying.

I never know if it might be related to my aged mother or my aged mother in law, both of who are likely to end up in hospital and I might get a call from a caregiver whose number I don't know.

In addition, I can no longer read the numbers on the caller ID without my glasses and often need to grab the phone before I can find them.

I do the same thing - I run numbers through Google and any solicitation calls get reported to the Do Not Call list. Most of those are scammer calls - legitimate businesses generally respect the Do Not Call list.

If I didn't answer unknown numbers, I would not have been able to skew the Rasmusssen poll slightly more towards Hillary Clinton the other day. I would not have bee able to harass the fake Microsoft techs and lie to them about what kind of computer I have or what I was doing while I pretended to follow their instructions.

And I wouldn't have had a wonderful conversation last night with a lovely British woman who was calling for VictoryforHillary.com.
