(962 posts)I'm a precinct committee person for the Democratic party in my county, so I'll be canvassing (in the rain) this weekend. Don't mind it a bit-- gives me an opportunity to connect with my neighbors for two or three minutes and since I'll take one of my teenagers with me I get to model good citizenship for them.

(2,542 posts)The guy who asked "What's the soup du jour?" didn't get ignored, but a request for somewhere for Democrats here to announce that they voted did.

(12,904 posts)He told me he was voting a straight Republican ticket.
That little turd knows just how to push his mama's buttons.

(21,056 posts)Sad that he isn't repulsed by Trump (even if he's a republican). And, if you're implying he was just being sarcastic by saying he's voting a straight R ticket, then no holiday cookies for teasin' momma! lol
Cracklin Charlie
(12,904 posts)And there is no way he will ever vote for a republican. Ever! He's a huge Elizabeth Warren fan.
But I did come back at him with a threat to disinvite for Taco Tuesday on November 8th. And he can put away some tacos!

(21,056 posts)And wonderful that he's pro-Warren. I love her and Michelle. I wish Hillary could have chosen Elizabeth. I had a strong feeling Donnie was going to destroy his chances eventually with his mouth (I never even thought about his past, but the GOP should have and dug deeper, but good for Hillary then, hopefully!), so it would have been crazy awesome to have Clinton/Warren!
Clinton/Kaine should do just fine! They have lots of talented people to seek counsel from, and Hillary's highly experienced.
Cracklin Charlie
(12,904 posts)Not enough superlatives for that one. She's a real girl, and a gift to our nation.
I would have liked Warren, too; but, I think I love Tim Kaine. He seems razor sharp.
Hillary will be great! I have a great deal of respect for her, and have supported her since she was first lady of my home state. My mother, and my grandmother, who were early defenders of Hillary Clinton against relentless and ridiculous fault-finding, would be so proud to see her now.
My granddaughter and I will think of them, when we cast our ballot for our first female President!

(11,833 posts)Congratulations on voting early. If feels good doesn't it?
These ballot initiative votes are so important too. I voted for repairing our local infrastructure & for spending more on improving our public schools. Also voted against some stuff I didn't like.
Hope you enjoy a great weekend.

(15,696 posts)233 pages of voter's guide. Yikes!
We deliver our completed ballots on election day. It's just down the street, and it's kind of a party in the parking lot over coffee and pastries.
