2016 Postmortem

Elections are definitely rigged. They are rigged by the people who vote in them, and therefore have the power to sway them. Elections are also completely biased, in that they attract the participation of people who are actually interested in who gets elected. This is obvious discrimination against those too stupid to vote at all, and leaves the voting to the powerful elitists who actually show up at the polls.
The truth is that if elections could be easily rigged, I assure you that your own party would have rigged the GOP primaries in order to make absolutely sure you wouldnt be the nominee.
Yes, its all broken. Whats broken is a tax system that allows multi-billion dollar corporations to pay little if any taxes, and people like you who think its smart to not pay their fair share. Of course, your fix for this situation is to give even bigger tax-cuts to those corporations and wealthy individuals.
What happened to us, Donald? Before you started campaigning, we were a strong nation that had survived the Dubya years and the Great Recession. Unemployment is low, the stock market is soaring and, thanks to Obama, we are basking in a renewed respect from the global community. How did we go from that to being a Third World country that might collapse any minute under the weight of the tears of its poverty-stricken, utterly hopeless citizenry?
Yes, Donald, we have to make America great again, because its become such a hellhole. Thats why millions of people risk everything to come here from other countries, because they want to be part of the dark, depressing, horrible place this nation has become. They come here to steal the jobs that you say dont exist, and then pay taxes that you dont pay.
Whats really broken is the fact that anyone anywhere is supporting you people who apparently believe that what America needs to be great is the leadership of a pussy-grabbing pervert who thinks blowing foreign thugs out of the water is sound foreign policy, a president who demeans other peoples ethnicity, religion and culture, a commander-in-chief who labels injured veterans as weak and mocks the disabled, someone who thinks advocating/inciting violence is smart thinking, someone who brags about assaulting women and then claims to be the victim, a man who doesnt pay his debts or his taxes an idiot who probably wouldnt have even worked his way up to assistant night-shift manager at Walmart by now, were it not for his daddys money.
Yeah, thats what we need to make America great again: a man with a fake tan and no plan. Also no brain, no character, no conscience, no experience, no knowledge, no morals, no principles. Thats the guy who will fix everything.
But thanks for the entertainment. Watching your childish tantrums, your public meltdowns, your half-assed statements that confirm you know absolutely nothing about anything, and your inability to put together a single coherent sentence has made for one of the most amusing presidential campaigns in history.
Might I suggest that after Hillarys landslide victory next month, you consider moving to some other country and make that country great again? There are any number of nations where people could use a good laugh. Im sure your schtick would have them rolling in the aisles.
As for we poor impoverished Americans living here in our broken country, well get by without you bigly so and wont miss you at all. Your stand-up comedy routine has become stale and predictable, and no one wants to see a punchline become president.

(50,986 posts)could have run a proper political campaign. He could have self-financed a first-class operation. But he wouldn't know how that was done, and if someone told him, he'd make a point to ignore their counsel.
This piece calls in an air strike against the Orange One. You hit him with everything he's given you to hit him with, and that's a long list.
There are some high school kids who are defiant, who stretch the rules, who are occasionally petulant or vulgar, but they're high school kids. Most of them grow up, as most of the rest of us did. Trump is not a high schooler but he is defiant, bends rules and laws, and is often petulant and vulgar.
His supporters won't read your piece, Nance. For one thing, it would require concentration and informed citizenship to read, just as it required talent and insight to write. And most of them wouldn't know really good writing if they saw it, although their ignoring your assessment of the Trump campaign here is a missed opportunity.

(19,460 posts)you would don a pant suit (preferably red), dye your hair blonde and step in as Hillary's surrogate for the debate? Not that she can't handle the Donald but you could just read this in your opening intro and watch Trump go ballistic.

(27,815 posts)... but Hill is SO much better at this than I could ever be.
She didn't even once when he sputtered his incomprehensible nonsense at both debates. I could NEVER have pulled that off!

(27,815 posts)... but it wouldn't be "politely".
Among a million other things, Trump has no explanation for why he, who has the money to live anywhere, still chooses to reside in the hellhole he describes America as having become.
Perhaps it's his legendary concern for the poor, the homeless, the disabled, the afflicted, and our injured vets that keeps him residing here in this dump.
