(35,699 posts)If there is to be a wave for HRC it could begin in Georgia.

(4,742 posts)I wouldn't hold my breath. It is, after all, Georgia.
They metro area of Atlanta would have to absolutely overwhelmingly vote for Hillary. The rest of Georgia will not.
dem in texas
(2,674 posts)The metro areas are strongly Dem, as is the Rio Grande Valley, but rural counties are strongly Repub and Texas has more rural counties than just about any other state.

Whites are actually a minority in Texas: 39% Hispanic, 13% African-American, 5% Asian, 1% Native American. Whites make up 43% of the population in Texas.

(108,980 posts)The question is whether they will vote for this particular Rethug, who is anything but generic GOP.

(70,510 posts)that migh make give HRC a shot
Georgia is about 32% African-American as well. In fact, looking at the Census bureau info, Georgia's white population is about 54% of the total. It should be turning blue any day now!
Botany
(70,510 posts)gerrymandering districts across much of America because the demographics is brutal for
the republican party. One can hope in Georgia that out of the 54% white population that
at least 50% is female and that 10% of the white population that is male will vote for HRC.
Even traditonal red states like S.C. and Nebraska are gonna change as the %s of hispanics
grow.
But for now W.V., KY, WY, TN, and OK are lost cases. KY, TN, & WV and southern and eastern OH
along with rural PA kill me because they (the people) will vote against their own best interests.
I blame much of that on right wing Christians and their "pastors."
