"Liberty" University censors anti-Trump article in university newspaper

The president of Liberty University censored an article critical of Donald Trump, according to the sports editor of the school's official newspaper, the Liberty Champion.

The editor, Joel Schmieg, posted a statement on his Facebook account claiming it was Jerry Falwell Jr., the university's president and a Trump supporter, who spiked the column, which criticized Trump for lewd comments he made on a hot mic during a 2005 taping of "Access Hollywood."

In his Facebook post, Schmieg poked fun at a statement by Falwell earlier in the week, in which he said: "It is a testament to the fact that Liberty University promotes the free expression of ideas unlike many major universities where political correctness prevents conservative students from speaking out."

Schmieg's article is heavily critical of the Republican nominee and his language in the 11-year-old recording, in which Trump described grabbing women "by the p---y."

"This is not locker room talk," Shmieg wrote. "Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to excuse the terrible things they or others have said."

He went on to argue that a high school student would be punished for saying what Trump says in the recording. "When an adult in his late 50's says things like "when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything," that should be a major red flag," he added.

I'm saying that anecdotally, to the one, each and all of the flaming hypocrites I have known were Christians.

I of course find the actions of Liberty University deplorable if not particularly surprising.

But on the other hand I find it hard to work up much sympathy for anyone who chooses to go to that little Hitler youth indoctrination camp in the first place.

Going to Liberty then acting surprised that they would censor free speech in order to protect an agenda is a little like the old example of the proctologist who comes home from his first day on the job incredulous and complaining, "They got me staring at assholes down there all day."

I think the question, "what did you expect" applies in both cases.

I've personally known about ten people that happened to. A couple were able to get scholarships to transfer to better schools their Junior year... except, and I swear this is true: all were made to retake any science credits.

And I definitely picture her as being one of the students that oppose Trump. You have two different kinds of Christians...the real ones that try to emulate Jesus Christ and the fake ones that just use the bible to whack other people over the head and judge/hate. This girl is a real Christian. No REAL Christian would ever support Trump.
