(81,859 posts)Obama and R-money both did a little better in 2012, but that doesn't matter much

(55,894 posts)it was nothing more than an unpleasant eye-roller.
Then a Hillary ad comes on and it's her voice, upbeat and hopeful with kids.

(56,828 posts)maybe he gets a few points for being a local.
I'm guessing he'll be in the low 20s in Massachusetts.

(26,060 posts)All 30% come from upstate. Down here where we know him best, he's getting clobbered. Those votes are coming from hundreds of miles away from NYC.

(874 posts)The makeup of the island is changing, perhaps this is the reason for the shift. I still would be very very surprised if Clinton takes Nassau or Suffolk county...there is much hate for her here...I hope I will be pleasantly surprised.

(26,060 posts)but the disgusting corruption of that party in the 90s really turned things around. It was the same in Westchester County (where I'm from). We always see way more signs for the pubbies but our country has been reliably blue for 10 years or so also. They buy signs and beat their chests - we vote in large numbers.

(24,689 posts)The man is a complete and utter lunatic and should never have been considered as a serious candidate for any political office.. much less POTUS.
but it tells you everything you need to know about the current state of the gop that he was considered the best out of the 17 running for the nomination.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)but, he beat them pretty handily. Only Ted Cruz was somewhat of a challenge. Not Jeb Bush, not Marco Rubio, nor Chris Christie or John Kasich.
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)if the field would have been smaller (say just donnie, marco, jeb and teddy), would he still have won? Don't really care enough to dig through the swamps to see how the votes split out but have been curious about it. I always felt the only one that Hillary would have had a hard time beating was kasich (who never stood a chance, he's too good at playacting sane).

(26,060 posts)would have sunk him. Comparing the Clinton years and the Bush years isn't even a fair fight.

(874 posts)Total waste of $$ why spend a dollar in a state he has absolutely zero chance of winning??

(28,270 posts)And his campaign manager is a mouth breathing sleezebag?
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)and tell him that spending in NY is a waste of money for him. That tells you a lot about Trump and about his top staffers.

(3,284 posts)because he's a grade A moron.
Now he's spending millions to buy ads there...
