2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAPPARENTLY, ALL OF THE BURDEN IS ON HILLARY TONIGHT
Donald Trump's presidential campaign is a mess, his stunts and rhetoric are severely damaging his standing in the polls, and most of America wouldn't be surprised if he spat on Hillary Clinton tonight or tried to punch her in the mouth.
And yet the media has decided that it's Clinton who needs to be concerned about her performance tonight. Here's Rick Klein of ABC News:
Could it be that theres actually more pressure on Hillary Clinton at the final debate than on Donald Trump? ... Clinton is now less than three weeks away from being elected president, barring a stunning collapse. Acting like that means not just rebutting and attacking Trump but going broad, reminding voters of her promise, not just her opponents weaknesses. Theres an opportunity if not an urgency for her to use the final presidential debate to appear downright presidential.
An urgency? Because if she doesn't ... what? She'll beat Trump by 7 rather than by double digits? She'll win just under 350 electoral votes rather than 350-plus?

FFS! The media is out there stirring their pot of feces because apparently they love the bullshit they spew. They like to play in it and toss it around so that when it hits the fan they scurry around lapping it up and then regurgitate it back to their viewers. Why? Ratings = $$$$$. They don't need no stinking facts. They just like waving that red flag of bullshit in the viewers faces, just like a matador does to a bull, to incite and enrage. I call bullshit.
None of these people are journalists seeking the truth anymore.

So, it's a more complicated challenge. Especially with a Foxhole 'moderating' the debate.

The media made Trump and they ain't gonna give up on him now. The will of the people be damned.

And I'm not even sure that people are aware that that's how they're coming across, especially old schoolers like Tweety and Wolf. These are people who still say things like, "He's smart," but they also say, "She's a smart woman,"or "She's one tough cookie." (And who wants a tough cookie, anyway?) Think I'm exaggerating? Start listening to people around you and see how pervasive this ingrained sexism is.

With so many channels to surf through and so much great programming, why cant we find anything to watch? 90% of what we watch, listen to and read is owned by 6 companies. Thats a large percentage to just be divided by a factor of six. 30 years ago 90% of media was held by 50 different companies, which is what most people would assume it would be now, but thanks to mergers and buyouts, its down to 6 major companies (until someone else buys another). The reason we never find anything new on TV is that 70% of what is on cable is owned by the Big 6. Thats 1 out of every 5 hours of television. Comcast now owns 51% of NBC, while GE owns 49% (even though the infographic states that GE owns Comcast), further controlling the market with a top cable provider and a top cable channel.
Here is another infographic depicting how much of the market the Bilderberg Grouphas an impact on by letting these major corporations network with each other. If you arent sure what the Bilderberg Group is, its an annual, unofficial, invitation-only gathering, where powerful companies meet and discuss the current happenings.

(9,122 posts)We see trump never say die. Never leave the stage. Thrive on the comeback. Master of destruction. And with an outsized ego nobody has control of.
Yet, after 16 Republican candidates failed, the media enabled, it is HRC who is supposed to become The dragon slayer. It is insanity. We are living in an insane, purposely built, Republican era of zero accountability.
And sadly, Hillary isn't a great communicator. But hopefully she becomes her own superhero.
