If you win a few early games ... you can play for draws, and win on points.

Trump needs a 4 move check mate. And he can't get it.

If Hillary drags the debate into a boring "end game" ... she wins the MATCH.

But they all have different goals. Hillary needs to fight for it tonight. She can win on points and be aggressive.

She should remain tough ... and also maintain her defenses ... If she can trade off pieces into an dull endgame ... its all over.

Trump needs the spectacular win. It would be great if Hillary gets that spectacular win ... but she does not need it.

He has to take those risks. She can counter punch.

She wins by being presidential and reassuring, while also tough.

Her job is to win over undecideds tired of the muck and sleaze and toxicity.

Her goal is not to beat Trump--that's already done. Her goal is to play for a blowout, and to help get a Democratic House and Senate.

If she goes full bore partisan warrior, that might encourage ticket splitting.

There is a reason teams use it. Statistically it works.

And while I viscerally want her to rip him a new one, that would amount to wrestling a pig in mud.

Ironically, this is the one situation her gender can help her after all the misogyny. He will be digging a deeper hole with female voters.

Trump needs four 4th quarter scores against the best team around.
