It will not be enough to BEAT this orange mess, because if sheer incompetence was enough, he would never have made it. I'm liberal. Hillary Clinton did an outstanding job of explaining how liberal policies will best get our economy moving, how they help reduce inequality and create more jobs. She also explained very well how her plans will reduce the deficit while maintaining important programs and expanding health care. On everything from foreign policy to tax policy to equal opportunity, she struck a middle of the road somewhat liberal position that would preserve and advance the successes of the Obama Administration. She appears ready to lead and also ready to work with anyone in Congress who is willing to listen to her and perhaps compromise on some things. She appears unwilling to compromise on Supreme Court appointees (they must allow free choice for women and should oppose Citizens United, for starters) and this delights me as a liberal. I thought it was Hillary's best debate performance. I think she clearly won all three, but in this one she was in particularly fine form, defending her achievements and articulating a clear vision for the present & future.

Donald Trump tried to articulate right wing policies, but his boorish personality and lack of clear speaking made most of sound to me like deflection, personal attacks and gibberish. The key moment for me was when he refused to say he will accept the results of this election. That's the kind of rhetoric that was popular with politicians leading up to and during the Civil War. I don't know of any nominee for a major party in the post-Civil War era who has used such reckless and cynical language during a presidential debate. Simply put, he again demonstrated what he is: a confused angry entitled boorish privileged old racist sexist douchebag motherfucker.

Okay, now onto reading this thread and having more fun!

I'd like to see our party focus more on running strong youthful liberal candidates in state & congressional races. And getting out the vote in those elections!

We're doing well with the presidency lately. But we're getting our asses kicked at state levels.

We WILL start taking back over at the state level. This time, we won't stop pushing after the election, we saw what happened. Never again!
