What do you most strongly wish for in a Clinton presidency?

I wish for serious criminal justice reform. That will mostly have to come at every state level. The presidency can set the tone, as the Obama Administration has done. I believe people like Black Lives Matter, Martin O'Malley, Warren, Sanders, Booker, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and many average people & folks reading here can and will play a strong role in improving our criminal justice system.

I wish for cooperation in Congress to adopt Clinton's proposed tax policy. That is most easy if we elect democrats to Congress. I think this would help unleash our economy.

For our party, I wish for diverse liberal candidates. Apart from the presidency, we're getting our asses kicked by republicans. Especially at state levels. I wish for more engagement and involvement and victories ahead. And when we have defeats, that we help lift one another up via laughter & compassion. As so many do here at DU.

...and that the members of the House and Senate push her into "leading" the way to Universal Health Care, progressive taxes, economic justice...

A good read:

I want to live to see us get on the road to that "better life."

High hopes, but you've gotta dream big.

progressive taxes & much more economic justice.

Thanks for all those inspirational quotes pat_k. We've got to keep having high hopes & dreaming big. We can accomplish a lot of these things in our lifetimes if we keep inspiring each other.

to then hand it over to the Repubs to shred and pull it further rightward to the point of insanity. Learn from your mistakes, and do not hand everything back over to the Repubs in another midterm shellacking!

Glass-Steagall being reimplemented. Net Neutrality becoming something that telecos can't just blatantly ignore and then get slapped on the wrist for minor fees later. A tech-literate government. Military funding being cut. Our ailing infrastructure actually being fixed. i.e. things that I don't believe any administration will ever get to.

if we get a more liberal house & senate!

Clinton's Wall Street reform proposals are very strong. Again we need a more liberal house & senate.

I do believe we'll repair our infrastructure. State levels can do a lot if they have more liberals making decisions as well.

I know I'm sounding like a broken record on this thread, but we need a more liberal congress to help her achieve it. There's no question Hillary would sign it into law if congress passes it.

I would really like to see that too Bucky. Unfortunately most of the newer republicans in congress who just got elected in the last midterms appear very far right wing. We've got to vote them out & replace them with liberals and progressives and moderates and democrats or whatever the hell one wants to call them. People who will put country before party.

2020 shapes up as difficult, given Hillary's age and the resistance to one party controlling the White House four consecutive terms.

It would be awesome for a new generation of young voters to grow up with a Democrat in the White House throughout, and comfortable with it. They would assume it as the norm.

If it's 8 years and not 4, many of the other wishes mentioned in this thread should take care of themselves. It would also allow many Supreme Court vacancies to be filled. I suspect some of the rightwingers on the Court will try to hang on and hope Hillary only serves 4 years.

Also, I hope there is not a major homeland attack. Obviously that would be true regardless of party of the president. With all that crap from Dick Cheney and others it would be terrific for Democrats to become viewed as the party that keeps us safe.
