(4,033 posts)This is supposed to be fun, not a damn campaign speech!! He is a terrible, awful, person. Who had the nerve to compare himself to Jesus.
The whole audience is appalled.

(8,377 posts)if she had a coding system in her notes so that she could quickly select the jokes that she wanted to use on the fly.
Trump's big problems were that his jokes weren't very good, and he just can't do humor. Jokes like this require the comic to acknowledge both sides of an issue (e.g. some people say xxxx about me, ant that reminds me that xxx about him.) You have to be able to admit you are not a god for the jokes to work. Trump just can't do that. His stuff just disintegrated into a series of mean remarks with no real humor.

(1,858 posts)I didn't watch, but from what I have read about his 'jokes' the only one that seemed remotely funny was a more of a jab at Melania and not himself.

(19,564 posts)No boos, no heckling. That was a whose who of NY on parade tonight, and they hated him out loud and in public. I guarantee you he expected a different reception. Politics aside, he thought they'd respect him for who he thinks he is in New York. But, they didn't feel obligated to hold back for 'manners' sake. His personal stock has tanked to the point they could be honest about their feelings, and they were. They mocked 'The Donald' publicly. There's a restructuring taking place, and Trump has to feel the shift in the wind. It's not blowing in his direction anymore. His opportunities are drying up faster than the water table in California.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Done? Ok.
He's has a bridge problem bigger than Chris Christie. He's burned down his bridges, and has no retreat plan. Sure he thought he'd try a media outlet, but that's gonna flop, or at best be a pitiful performer. What's next? His brand is damaged beyond repair, the people who used to at least feel they had to be polite in public are turning on him. What's next? He's feeling the blowback now.
He's well and truly screwed!

(34,648 posts)Let me read it again. Ahh, so delicious. I hope to see peopke who paid him to use his name at the courthouse suing him for their money back. Honestly, if he can be kept in court for the rest of his life making payouts to all of his victims, this campaign might have been almost worth the pain.

(19,564 posts)Don't get me wrong, it's been a toothache worthy treat watching Hillary pound him into the pavement, but she was always well above him, and her trouncing of him was inevitable.
But, watching him flounder in front of what he thought were his real peers, it was delish!! He deserves all the backlash his horrific campaign rains down on his head, and more. I won't be satisfied until he's fully broken, and broke. It's a personal thing now.
I recorded the dinner. I'm going to open some wine and rewatch him being humiliated again just for laughs!

(34,648 posts)All those swanky folks booing and jeering him. I see he made his exit pretty quickly, and she stayed greeting folks. I bet he is once again on a rare tear through Trump Tower, screaming at his family.

(19,564 posts)For me it was more a herald of what's to come for Trump.
We know now his campaign is failing (imploding?), and that's less of a threat today than it was yesterday, or on September 26, and September 9th.
Now we can focus on down ticket races, and spare a few, happy moments to relax and laugh at the fallout of Trumps campaign on him.
Damn. It feels good to relax a bit and laugh! Speaking for myself only, of course.
