2016 US Senate Election Ayotte vs. Hassan
If the 2016 Senate election was held today, 46% of likely general election voters say they would vote for Hassan, 38% would
vote for Ayotte, 3% would vote for someone else, and 13% are undecided.
After including undecided voters who have indicated the candidate to whom they are leaning toward, the percentages
become 48% for Hassan, 39% for Ayotte, 4% for someone else, and 9% remain undecided.
This marks the first time a candidate has held a statistically significant lead since the UNH Survey Center began polling on this
contest in May, 2015. Ayotte and Hassan hold wide leads among members of their parties; Ayotte leads among Republicans
81%‐5% and Hassan leads among Democrats 84%‐8%, while Independents are divided (36%‐34% Hassan). Ayotte recently said
she would not vote for Donald Trump but this has not hurt her support among Trump voters. Trump voters currently favor
Ayotte 82%‐5% while Clinton voters favor Hassan 84%‐10%.
