President Obama called our Marco Rubio with his own words when Rubio slammed Donald Trump back in the Republican Primaries. It was very effective.
"I agree with the U.S. Senator, a Republican, who a while back said that we can't afford to give the nuclear codes of the United States to an erratic individual," Obama said. "By the way, you know who said that? Marco Rubio. He also called Donald Trump a dangerous con artist who has spent his career sticking it to working people. Now that begs the question since we are in Florida; Why does Marco Rubio still plan to vote for Donald Trump? Why is he supporting Donald Trump? I know a lot of Republican voters, just ordinary folks, your neighbors, your friends, most of them dont think the way Trump does. And there are legitimate differences between the parties. But there has to be a point where you stand for something more than just party, or more than just your own career.
President Obama is making the case that Republican candidates like Marco Rubio are responsible for Donald Trump. He is intimating that they should not be rewarded with reelection.

(7,596 posts)He is a little man. A sniveling, craven little man who puts what he thinks is best for his career above everything else, including the well-being of his country. The idea that this useless, lazy grifter could be reelected is sickening.

(9,148 posts)I know little Marco is predicted to hold his Senate seat but after Obama's speech today I'm betting Murphey's odds just went up.
One more Senate seat for the Dems. C'mon Florida!!

(7,596 posts)Considering the insanity of the orange madman, it's easy to forget how awful his primary opponents were. In the infamous debate where he self destructed, Rubio claimed that Obama was DELIBERATELY "ruining" the country. I'm sure the president has not forgotten that.
