Related: About this forumWTF? MSNBC Has Al Smith Audience Booing Hillary as Loudly as Trump?
Just saw the opening of Andrea Mitchell's show. Two clips from last night were shown - Trump's "crooked Hillary/Watergate commission" joke and Hill's Statue of Liberty joke. In both instances, the audience was heard to react unfavorably.
I have seen the Hillary clip at least 10 times, and this was the first time I heard the audience reacting poorly. There were no outright boos as there were for Trump, but this playing of this video had a much higher gain on the audience reaction, almost like their sound was boosted. That made any groans much more present than they were during the event or in any other airings of this clip I have seen up to now.
Is this an attempt to create a false equivalency, to make it seem like the audience reacted equally badly to Hillary as they did to Trump? Seems like it.
