(14,757 posts)I voted in person at my town clerks office last week. Took about 5 minutes. I've done it off and on for years.
Technically, it's in person absentee ballot voting, but it still counts.

(83,785 posts)New regulations relating to early voting in Massachusetts became effective on August 26, 2016, in time for the 2016 fall elections. The regulations implement the requirements set forth in General Laws Chapter 54, Section 25B, Early voting; application for early voting ballots; early voting period, sites and lists; counting of early voting ballots. The 2014 Election Reform Law created the early voting option in Massachusetts.

(14,757 posts)It doesn't use voting machines, which is what I think the law requires.
Rather, you fill out an absentee ballot in person, and hand it in right away.
Same difference. You can vote today. You could vote last week. You could vote the week before that.
You don't need to wait till the 24th.

(42,862 posts)I vote early so that I don't HAVE to wait in line... but when I see that I actually AM waiting in line, it makes me realize that on election day, I'd probably be waiting in an even LONGER line.
One thing I love about the line (if you can believe it) is being able to chit-chat and make small talk with the folks around you. It's pretty easy to tell who's voting for who. Yes... I can tell just by LOOKING at someone.
The excited and energetic and smiling voters are the DEMOCRATS! The sour, impatient, cold, vacant and angry-eyed voters are the Republicans.

(83,785 posts)I would wait for the day. I am in the burbs and have never waited, yet in talking to a woman outside the town hall, they expect huge turnout.
~ can't wait to vote.
