2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI've thrown caution to the wind, and placed my Hillary bumper sticker on my car.
Admittedly, I have no real plans to do any extensive traveling outside of my safe, Democratically represented part of the county but I live right off of a major commercial highway, so who knows.
I will keep a tally on how many middle fingers vs thumbs up I might get.

(26,263 posts)My neighbors are great - even my Republican neighbor, across the street, is a really nice guy who is very anti-Trump and his wife is very pro-Hillary.
I probably will avoid freeway travel, though. The only way I escaped the guy who tried to run me off of the road, when I had a Kerry bumper sticker, was making a hasty and unplanned right turn at a very busy intersection.

(30,947 posts)During the past election, I had an Obama/Biden sticker on my car. Though I was breaking no traffic laws, a policeman followed me all the way home and then drove on when I turned into my drive. I think he was trying to intimidate me.

(30,540 posts)never put a bumpersticker on, even here people have trouble. Eight years ago people around here that had Obama signs and bumperstickers had their cars vandalized with spray paint. I was lucky that I had company that night that was coming and going so I escaped but after that I never again want any political things up.

(30,540 posts)back in the 1980's was very conservative. There's still a few wingnut holdouts that won't give up and admit defeat, they like to make trouble.

(364 posts)in the South Bay area, and I have bumper stickers on both my van and car. My husband was not happy since he has to take one of those to his workplace, and causing unnecessary trouble. I haven't seen any trouble so far though.

(4,640 posts)car to vandalism. I live in a red state, and I see an awful lot of Trump/Pence signs and confederate flags.

(15,217 posts)It turns out there's nothing on the back of my car that isn't plastic or aluminum, so the magnet wouldn't cling. Bumper sticker it is!
I think it's important for building pro-Clinton (not merely anti-Trump) enthusiasm. Be loud and proud!
I didn't let the magnet go to waste either. It does grab onto the steel of my car door, so I have side-facing support on display too.
