Eric Trump argues he’s not ‘in a bubble’: ‘You can’t drive 500 yards without seeing a Trump sign’

Everything is a conspiracy against the Trump campaign, according to GOP nominee Donald Trump’s son, Eric. But, he’s not worried about losing the election because he sees a yard sign every 500 yards as he’s driving through states on the campaign trail.

In Sunday’s episode of This Week with George Stephanopoulos, the host cited Trump’s recent polling numbers in key battleground states to show how the candidate is losing. Eric doesn’t believe them, though.

“I don’t give much credence to the Washington Post polls,” Trump said of the recent numbers that show Democratic rival Hillary Clinton leading. He cited Florida polls that showed the campaign leading by six percentage points during the primary elections — and noted how Trump ultimately won Florida primary by nearly 20 points.

When asked if he felt like he was fighting from behind, Trump could only say “maybe” but it didn’t much matter to him. “When I’m on the ground, the amount of love out there is incredible,” he said. “The amount of Democrats I have coming up to me every day saying, ‘I’ve been a Democrat my entire life. My entire family is made up of Democrats. We’re coming out voting for you.'”

Trump also said that many of the polls show them only winning four percent of Democrats and he just doesn’t buy it. “I mean, we’re getting the union votes. We’re getting the law enforcement votes. I mean, so many of those votes had traditionally gone to the Democratic Party and I can tell you, we’re getting 90 percent of this vote.”

but I can easily drive a lot more than 500 yards without seeing one.

The weird thing this election, is that I'm not seeing many signs at all, for any candidate.

I did see a guy standing by the highway holding a handwritten sign saying that the "Clinton crime family" should be in prison, but I see people like that in that spot every presidential election. It must be some local Tea Party group.

Those I do see are mostly for down ticket races. I don't think people want to get into it with each other. It's not a normal race where you can have a rational argument about the presidential candidates. For us Democrats, putting a Hillary sign in your yard or a sticker on your car is just begging for some RWNJ to do some damage or get confrontational. It's like waving a red cape at an angry bull.

With cash short there, and the lack of polling places for our election in the Siberian countryside, I doubt they'll be spending their money on signs. Those hackers don't for free, ya know.

Total ego- and meglo-maniac. The perfect nouveau-riche Republican. Spent $25 million he had borrowed on a house he didn't need. Hell I don't the English Royal Family could have needed this:

9. And the reason you don't see double that many Clinton signs, son of Trump:

When your father implicitly calls for the assassination or jailing of his opponent, his followers explicitly call for it, and he repeatedly threatens others with deportation and litigation, it doesn't necessarily feel very safe to put up a yard sign.

While moderately fanatic followers of your father might not muster up the "courage" to try to assassinate the candidate, it takes exponentially less "courage" to assassinate the yard sign, or the family dog or cat, or even just to relentlessly bully the owner.

Fewer of us than we would like to think would have followed the example of the Danes WW II, who figuratively - if not literally - donned the Star of David by sheltering and arranging for safe passage for Danish Jews to Sweden.

Far more follow the path suggested by Martin Niemöller:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Martin Niemöller

Especially when it appears your father is intent on self-immolation.

No bumper stickers either. Nothing for anybody. You would never know this is an election year at all. There are more Trump signs here on LI where my daughter lives. NO Hillary signs at all. Maybe we Hillary supporters are the true Silent Majority? Big Mouth Trump Supporters like him.

Take it to the bank that the Trumpster is going to be crushed in his home state of NY.

So you think they would be everywhere. But barely any to be seen. I can make trips to the store a few freeway exits down and not see one. In my neighborhood you normally see a lot of repub yard signs out. But this year just a few local political signs out. Even repub bumper stickers seem rare.
