I, for one, am glad they have labeled the PP&ACA as Obamacare.

I really believe there will be a time in the future when there will be discussions that before Obamacare, Americans let other Americans die because they had no access to healthcare. People will be in disbelief that Americans treated their fellow citizens like this.

No - it's not perfect, and single payer would have covered more people and not been a give-away to the insurance companies - BUT-
it's a starting point, a beginning.

If the gopers want to credit President Obama for this moment, let them.
They will be a footnote when the history books are written
(unless, of course, the history books are written in Texas ).

It seems to me there would not be this sudden coordinated push to embrace the name and saddle the president fully with the law unless they felt fairly confident about the outcome. Otherwise, if it is struck down or badly damaged, I don't think in an election year they would be doing this. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I hope not.

In addition, "Affordable Care Act" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue or mean much to a lot of people. If this thing goes into effect as planned, it will indeed have a legacy in history. Though I'm glad Medicare is not "Johnson Care"! (sounds kind of like male hygiene!)
