"I'm open to it, yeah," Santorum told reporter Michael Warren. "I think there's a fight right now as to what the soul of the Republican Party's going to be and the conservative movement, and we have something to say about that. I think from our battle, we're not going to leave the field."

Santorum surprised many Republicans by securing the most votes in the Iowa caucuses in January, the first electoral contest of the presidential election cycle. He went on to win 11 states in total before dropping his bid and conceding to Mitt Romney in April.

Since then, he has launched an advocacy group called Patriot Voices and written a book, "American Patriots: Answering the Call to Freedom."

We haven't heard from Bachmann yet. Wonder what's taking her so long?

2016 is just around the corner and the GOP doesn't have much time to get their circular firing squad team assembled. Finally, this is their big chance. Barack Obama's term limited and they'll have a clean slate.

So, GOP! Line 'em up and get 'er started now!!! There's no time to waste. Better schedule those first 2016 debates as soon after this new years as possible. Just make sure that you get lots of candidates. Akin! Mourdock! That Joe Walsh guy's available, I hear. And how about Jan Brewer and that guy who likes guns who ran against Gabby Giffords, both from Arizona. I will even bet you could get Ron Paul into the mix one more time. Rick Perry is always entertaining. Don't forget him. Just make sure you get all those highly qualified people into the race now. And don't forget Sarah.

But, I warn you, you better get going soon. We already have our candidate. It's a big secret, but you can imagine who she is.

Get 'er done now, GOP! Times a-wastin'!

But I'm sure a bunch of them will be running in order to raise money and to sell their books.

This sort of proves a point I've made before. The GOP is beyond redemption. They'll never learn. We need to have more than two parties but one of those parties can't be the GOP.

Even if they find a "moderate" candidate they will have to go so far right to match the crazy of Santorum and company that they will yet again alienate a lit of people.
