Early voting numbers surge in Harris County (Houston, TX) - Houston Chronicle

October 28, 2016 Updated: October 28, 2016 7:19pm

Harris County residents cast more ballots in the first four days of early voting than five states did in the entire 2012 presidential election.

Locally, the number of ballots cast over those days was 45 percent higher than the same period four years ago. Other parts of the state, which sported the nation's lowest turnout in 2014, have seen similar growth.

Now, the question is, will it continue? If it does, Harris County could see close to one million people – almost half the county's registered voters – cast ballots before election day.

"The first four days looked pretty good for local Democrats," said Murray, who has studied Harris County voting patterns since 1966. "More female, more ethnic, less Caucasian."

The county's turnout so far has been 57 percent female, Murray said, compared with the typical 54 percent, which he called "probably something of a Trump effect."
From that report

If this was heavily democratic county, one could think Hillary is pulling big numbers there. But county is almost evenly split based on past voting history.

Inside the 610 Loop lots of townhouses now instead of single family homes.

The old inner city neighborhoods are being tore down.
The old neighborhoods were blue collar and democratic.

I don't know how the vote will be now.

Lots of none Texans moving in from everywhere.

This election will tell us a lot.

Harris county is blue, but barely. Obama won it by 0.1% in 2012. I think its great people are voting. But lets not fool ourselves into thinking they are all democrats.

Not by much, but they're beating 2012 numbers. I'll have today's state results posted in about 3 hours, when Clark County's (Las Vegas) numbers come in.

Nervously excited!

It's not electioneering. It's just the color of my clothes. If you do, you should all take a group photo afterwards for your memorabilia.
