NY Times: F.B.I. Chief James Comey Is in Political Crossfire Again Over Emails

Desperate distraction from Trump's sexual assault problems, on purpose in my opinion.

F.B.I. Chief James Comey Is in Political Crossfire Again Over Emails

.... reaction was swift and damning, with Mrs. Clinton’s supporters and even some Republicans blasting Mr. Comey. .....

By late Friday, Mr. Comey felt it necessary to further explain his actions in an email to F.B.I. employees in which he acknowledged that “there is significant risk of being misunderstood.” He explained that he was trying to balance the obligation he felt to tell Congress that the investigation he had said was completed was continuing, with not knowing yet “the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails.”

Justice Department officials were said to be deeply upset about Mr. Comey’s decision to go to Congress with the new information before it had been adequately investigated.

That decision, said several officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, appeared to contradict longstanding Justice Department guidelines discouraging any actions close to an election that could influence the outcome.

One official complained that no one at the F.B.I. or the Justice Department is even certain yet whether any of the emails included national security material or was relevant to the investigation into whether Mrs. Clinton had mishandled classified material in her use of a private email server.

Judicial Watch Statement on Decision by FBI Director James Comey to Reopen Investigation into Hillary Clinton’s Emails

....

The FBI’s seeming decision to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information is astonishing. Once again, we suspect our Freedom of Information Act and other investigations have spurred the FBI to act. This decision highlights the corruption, favoritism, and incompetence in the FBI/Justice Department investigation of Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton’s email misconduct and lies, aided and abetted by the Obama administration, have created a national crisis. The FBI needs to disclose more information about what it found and when – the American voters deserve answers now.

Judicial Watch helped break open the Clinton email scandal and, no matter what the FBI does, will independently continue its historic litigation and investigation.

He should call Comey on the carpet and demand his resignation right fucking now. Comey has inserted himself into this election in the most ham-handed manner.

Would Obama be inserting himself into the election if he did that? I don't know and I don't care. The republicans have allowed Putin into our electoral process. They have allowed Wikileaks to slant and lie. Do it, President Obama. What can they do? Impeach you, at this late date? Subpoena you? If they do, ignore them.

Trump is calling everyone corrupt and calling for all sorts of people to go to jail. He wants endless investigations. The people who need to be investigated are Comey and our biased, ignorant so-called journalists. The old Soviet Union had better journalists than we do.

This is what happens when Democrats try to reach across the aisle to appear reasonable and "bipartisan." They get their hands chewed off.

At least I've got to believe that Hillary is going to have all of their numbers from day one. She's been dealing with their shit for 25 years and knows she shouldn't trust them farther than she could throw the rotting corpse of antonin scalia.

12. I agree with chewing Comey's ass out, but firing him is too much like the Saturday Night Massacre.

That didn't work out well for Nixon; this wouldn't work out well for Obama this close to the election. It would fan the flames of the conspiracy jackals, and create more anti-Hillary frenzy.

Force Comey to hand in his resignation after the election.

shooter and the Orlando shooter. They walked away from their investigation of all three and Americans died. I think the FBI needs to be investigated.

First his press conference in July which was inappropriate and not in compliance with protocol and now this....Comey is making his own rules.....I don't understand why he feels he has the right to do this.
