Related: About this forumIs This Right? The emails are not TO or FROM Sec. Clinton?
And were found on Weiner's computer but are not directly connected to Sec. Clinton or her server?
Do I have this wrong?

(26,044 posts)because HRC prefers to read hard copies. That would seem to imply that none of them were FROM Clinton (because, after all, there would be little reason to read something you yourself have written). According to Eichenwald at Newsweek, the only thing the investigators could be looking at at this point was whether there was any wrongdoing by Clinton's aide, not the Secretary herself. Of course, what makes this thing so insidious is that, by not making that clear, and suggesting the facts won't be known until after the election, voters will thus be deciding based on their own imaginations filling in the blanks for what could theoretically be in the e-mails, which is practically guaranteed to be far more damaging than the worst that could logically be expected (i.e. nothing that didn't already come up this spring).

No emails being examined by FBI were to or from Clinton. All of this has to do with procedures followed by an aide.

(35,015 posts)I think what the FBI has are duplicates of what they've already seen. And not classified.

(5,648 posts)By most reports the emails were sent to that device (which was connected to a printer) by Weiner's wife, Hillary's top aid, Huma Abedin, to be printed because the State Department printer at their office was too clunky to use. So chances are that they are the same emails that the FBI already processed in their previous investigation.
The only problem I can see would be that Weiner (who was a congressman at the time) might have been able to see classified stuff if it were any in those email on their shared computer. If so it might be then said that Huma might have been careless with classified material - not good, but not a real big deal. Hard to see how anything would further involve Hillary.
