(4,465 posts)And stay silent on the trump/Russian connection?
He should be silent about everything.....a goddam political shill. Should resign now!

(15,438 posts)campaign ties to Russia for the first time this morning on AMJoy - that's how silent the FBI has been on Trump - it's time for Comey to come out publicly, take responsibility and apologize to Hillary Clinton and for his unprecedented actions, explain that there's no there there, and tender his resignation.
This will shutdown the Republican lying machine in one fell swoop and bring our elections back into the realm of fairness.

If he doesn't do any of the things I've listed, then that venerated reputation should be stripped from him a.s.a.p., and he should be seen as just another Republican partisan-hack who tried to derail a Democrat's presidential bid.

Perhaps his boss, Attorney General Lynch, could assign him to lead a team of investigators to Moscow to look into the collusion between Putin and Trump, the team to dispatch within 24 hours and to remain in Moscow until two days before Thanksgiving.
Absent that, I think a meeting should be arranged on an urgent schedule with President Obama, AG Lynch, and Mr. Comey, the result of which involves Comey issuing an apology and stepping down.

(50,986 posts)I think an expeditious meeting between Lynch and Comey should take place -- say, within the hour -- and then after Lynch has marshaled the relevant material and reported it to the White House, another meeting with the president, Lynch, and Comey, the gist of which would be that it is in the best interests of everyone if Comey resigned.
Unless there is some information Comey has that the rest of us do not have, it looks at the moment as if he is attempting to subvert the democratic process with scurrilous information.

(50,986 posts)work? Does Loretta Lynch call a meeting with Comey to learn what happened and then report back to her boss in the White House? Or does the Chief Executive initiate the discussion between Lynch and Comey?
And then maybe those three principals meet the next day?
It seems to me that Comey should offer to resign. He is surely perceptive enough to know that he is now the source of significant disruption.
